Granted, this wonderful two handed sword provides lots of food for thought. You could claim it is a claymore, the famous two handed sword that was only used by the Scots. But the blade and the crossguard are not correct in that case, and the claymore was not developed until the late 15th century – a good 100 years after Scottish freedom fighter William Wallace was executed in 1305. Would Wallace have even used a two handed sword? Probably not, even if it had suited his stately height of 1.96 m. A "Wallace Claymore" is on exhibition in Great Britain, but chances are Wallace never held that sword in his hand.

We decided to name this mighty edged weapon after William Wallace because it is a replica of the sword his character used in the well known movie about him. Design liberties and minor historical inaccuracies do not necessarily diminish a work – they can lead to equally impressive results. And when talking about a total length of more than 150 cm, who would hesitate to use the word "impressive?" The pear-shaped, riveted pommel at the end of the tapering grip, the straight crossguard with a langet, and the brown leather wrapping that includes the ricasso all make this sword easy to recognize anywhere.

For the sake of historical correctness, our William Wallace longsword does not come with a scabbard. Typically, you carry a sword this long across your back.
