The chaperon generally consists of a hood covering the neck and shoulders. Often contextualized as the headwear of monks and priests, it became fashionable among the bourgeoisie in the 14th century and later among the rest of the population. The chaperon was reserved exclusively for men who wore it so tightly around their heads that you could only see their faces. It has an extra long trailing point and is lined with dagges all around. Our chaperon of light black material is open at the front and ties around the neck with a frog closure.
