This Civil War dagger is based on the daggers used by the soldiers who fought on the Confederate side of the Mason-Dixon line. They were produced by W.J. McElroy Swordworks, a company located in Macon, Georgia. The company began to make a variety of edged weapons for the South in 1861.

From its design and appearance, our South Civil War dagger is a lot like the famous "Arkansas Toothpick." But this one has a turned wooden grip and a guard that truly deserves to be called a crossguard due to its size and shape. These two features are characteristic of most of the weapons produced at the McElroy Swordworks. Thanks to its excellent balance, this South Civil War dagger is very manageable and well suited to close combat.

It includes a leather scabbard with a brass mount and chape.
