Naumburg Cathedral in Naumburg, Germany on the Saale River is a treasure trove of medieval sword models. Famous the world over, the reliefs and statues of the tombs show a number of swords in clear detail. They are the basis for our medieval Naumburg sword.

Count William of Camburg of the House of Wettin, who died in 1088, once carried this type Xa sword with a very rare, type N riveted pommel. The slightly spatulate point and fuller that runs almost the entire length of the sword are very typical of this High Middle Ages blade type. This steel sword is a balanced, lively replica with a straight crossguard and wooden grip wrapped in leather.

Our medieval Naumburg sword comes with a black leather scabbard featuring a mount and chape.
