The Swiss Degen is a long knife that was widely in use from the middle of the 15th century to the end of the 16th century in Old Swiss Confederacy. Despite the good 60 cm-long blade on our model it is still suitable for close combat as it is quick and easy to manage and is useful for powerful thrusts as well as precise cuts. These features illustrate its relation to the dagger.

The relatively broad, two edged blade has five fullers extending down into the ricasso. They are longer in the middle and shorter toward the outside. Particularly characteristic is the narrow cross-guard that finishes off the gorgeous hardwood grip – it is less for deflecting and more for preventing your hand from slipping during powerful thrusts.

The included scabbard features two small tool pockets holding a knife and a spear.
