This type of sword was widely used during the Late Middle Ages. It was the first real hand and a half sword designed and constructed for use in war. With sharp edges that come to an acute point and a diamond-shaped cross section, this sword was made for thrusting. Some swords of this type also had highly developed central ribs and are known as estoc or tuck swords.

Our slim hand and a half sword is hand forged of 1095 carbon steel. Its wooden grip has three ridges, is wrapped with leather, and generously dimensioned so it can be wielded with one or two hands as required. The pommel has an unusually decorative shape created by tapering wings. The cylindrical crossguard with ball-shaped ends flattens at the center to form a vestigial langet. This slim hand and half sword includes a leather scabbard with a mount and chape.
